I have not received the unit yet, but I am building a 24v 280ah lithium lifepo4 battery I plan to use with this inverter. Will the charger built in work with lifepo4 batteries?

Yes, you can fully configure "bulk" and "float" charge settings, as well as the battery charge amperage. No "presets" that end up never matching what you need 😉.
2nd shipment is a few days away last we heard...
Ah, sorry, I had you completely mixed up with a GS inverter customer...didn't closely read the topic title, this is a PJ inverter. My fault, sorry, if I got your hopes up.
That's an 8kw PJ inverter--and no, you will not be able to safely use battery charge with a lithium battery bank. All you get are preset values...and comically, some of them are beyond the OVP error threshold of the inverter. Changing the "low battery alarm" knob actually adjusts EVERY battery voltage preset, as it messes with the battery voltage feedback circuit to the CPU.
At your own risk, basically. EDIT: Not to mention that PJ inverters are known for blowing up if used with AC input.
Inverter looks pretty good; not saying it isn't a remanufactured/repaired unit, but there really is no solid way to tell.
I guess ill be returning it then
Another quick question, can I use Lithium batteries to power this unit?
You can run a powerjack inverter on lifepo4 batteries. I'm doing exactly that myself. Using the powerjack to charge your batteries however, has never been a great idea. Most of us with any experience using powerjack inverters never connect an ac input to the inverter. So using it for battery charging is a risky business at best.
Much better to use a separate charging setup such as solar through a good quality charge controller for charging your batteries. Make sure the charging source you choose lets you set proper charging setpoints specific for lifepo4 batteries. You can damage your batteries with improper setpoints.
If you really want the inverter to charge your batteries you have to buy a higher priced inverter, such as the Genetry Solar inverter Sid was referring to above. Hope this helps.
Okay, thank you. I have a charger from the company I bought the battery that is for it, I was just hoping this was a 2 for 1 kinda thing with the power jack.

Ideally it would be 😉.
Yeah if I would have bought one of yours
