Not sure of the forum is still active or not, but figured I’d pop in with a few questions..

As the heading states, I’ve been running the GS6000 nonstop for about three years now powering my whole house, and it’s been doing its job diligently in the background without much issue. However, i’ve noticed over the last couple months that when I have my Keurig on and “idling”, the inverter will make a frequent muffled noise that sounds a bit like distant machine gun, for lack of a better descriptor. Or maybe a distant jackhammer? I’m wondering if maybe this a fan that’s trying to operate but not able to engage or something. The noise will happen intermittently 6-8 times a minute while the Keurig is plugged in, and immediately cease once it is unplugged.

The other questing is that I see the newer units have canbus ports…i’m wondering if it’s possible to retrofit those into my unit, and what kind of protocols do they support? I’ve got some midnite powerflo batteries on the way and they use pylon.

Definitely not a normal phenomenon.  I would suspect loose connections on the transformer primaries (either nuts/bolts or possibly the actual crimps)...something I'd definitely want to see sorted.  I don't think you'd hear anything if the fans couldn't start...and for that matter, from the "FANS" page, you can "test" each of the channels and verify the fans run normally.

Well, at least the hardware support was available as an option there (and potentially can be retrofitted)...but no firmware has yet been written to actually support the functionality.

Was able to cut the video down to a 2mb file, but this is what it’s doing

@blackwaterpark That actually sounds like a fairly normal inverter response to a pulsed heating element.  If I'm hearing correctly, it's a muffled pulsing to the normal transformer hum--not a sharper buzzing sound as would be expected from a bad connection.

It's possible one of the ferrite chokes is resting against the case--but it's not going to hurt anything doing that.  Those little things can vibrate quite strongly.
